Anxiety

Past trauma can cause symptoms consistent with anxiety and panic attacks. You might try to relax and reduce your anxiety, but if past trauma is driving the anxiety, then the efforts to resolve the anxiety may not work.

Depression.

Trauma symptoms can also look like depression. You might feel like your body has no energy and you cannot even get out of bed. It is not a matter of desire, you want your body to move. But, it just sits and feels like lead. For those that are affected by their trauma in this way, treatment can be complicated by the depressive symptoms. One needs enough energy to get into treatment, but the source of the problem makes it hard to get the needed care. Sometimes, friends or family may help people bridge that gap until their energy returns.
